Culture is the beliefs, customs, arts, ways of life, ways of thinking, behaving or working of a society.

Swat Valley is a place among the richest in terms of culture. And here we are to highlight the cultural beauties  of our valley for our new generations. Swat Valley is created by Allah as a charming piece of beauties and bounties and that is why it deserves to be inhabited by people who have the highest standards of aesthetic sense, attitudes, values ways of life, goals, ways of thinking, behaving and working to keep this valley as beautiful as created by its Creator. These high standards are to be cultivated through educating the people who claim this valley to be their own. And this cultivation should have effects on the intellectual and moral faculties.

To achieve this task we are to enlighten ourselves by collecting and sharing here the knowledge about Tangible and intangible culture of our valley.

We all know our valley has treasures of  both tangible and intangible culture. The need is to collect, conserve and pass them on to the next generation because no human society can exist and develop without its culture.

Tangible (Material) Culture is that we can touch for example cultural objects, spiritual and sacred sites, architectural works, foods, monuments, artifacts, tools etc.

Intangible (Non-Material) Culture is that we can not touch for example oral traditions, music, festivals, social practices, belief system, popular memory etc.

We all know our valley has treasures of  both tangible and intangible culture. The need is to collect, conserve and pass them on to the next generation because no human society can exist and develop without its culture.

Swat Valley has different types of buildings, agricultural tools, wood carving tools, beds, wooden and clay utensils, hand-made cloth and clothes, many kinds of food items and many more objects that can be studied as tangible culture.

Swat Valley has Tappa ???, fairy tales, tongue twisters, riddles ????, traditional sports, Jirga ???? as system of government, ashar ??? as a unique example of working in collaboration rather than competition, and many more things we are to work on as intangible culture?

As beneficiaries of all the blessings we have in swat valley from Allah it is our duty to work for preserving and developing our cultural assets in order to prove ourselves grateful.
